Rental Field Service Technician

Job Summary
Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on customer and Yancey's rental equipment in the field. Source and order parts, operate heavy equipment and vehicles with valid licenses, and perform welding, brazing, and fabrication. Complete all work orders, time sheets, and daily inspection records accurately and timely. Maintain service vehicle logs, keep equipment clean, and photograph units as necessary. Work overtime on short notice while adhering to safety procedures and quality standards. Requires 5+ years of experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and ability to read technical schematics. Must obtain CDL if required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of complex hydraulics, electrical, computer and mechanical systems, arc and oxygen acetylene welding, test equipment used to diagnose and repair equipment and electronic components of vehicles
- Ability to operate a variety of equipment safely to diagnose, adjust, and repair malfunctions
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to read and understand operators and repair manuals
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to keep all required records
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical information from schematics, technical manuals, technical drawings, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
- Basic computer skills (Windows based programs and email)
- Possess and maintain an acceptable driving record according to company standards
- Skilled in basic computer application programs
- Must be able to obtain a CDL license if required
- Must work overtime on short notice
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Course work from accredited trade school, college or university with emphasis in mechanics, hydraulics, and automotive electronics is desirable
