Job Summary
Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on customer and rental heavy equipment in the field. Source and order parts, perform welding and brazing, fabricate modifications, and complete all work orders and time sheets accurately. Operate vehicles with a valid CDL, maintain service vehicle inspection records, and photograph equipment as needed. Work overtime on short notice, adhere to strict safety procedures, and keep all truck and equipment clean. Requires minimum five years of relevant experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and knowledge of complex hydraulics and electrical systems. Must obtain a CDL license if required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of complex hydraulics, electrical, computer and mechanical systems, arc and oxygen acetylene welding, test equipment used to diagnose and repair equipment and electronic components of vehicles
- Ability to operate a variety of equipment safely to diagnose, adjust, and repair malfunctions
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to read and understand operators and repair manuals
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to keep all required records
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical information from schematics, technical manuals, technical drawings, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
- Basic computer skills (Windows based programs and email)
- Possess and maintain an acceptable driving record according to company standards
- Skilled in basic computer application programs
- Must be able to obtain a CDL license if required
- Must work overtime on short notice
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Course work from accredited trade school, college or university with emphasis in mechanics, hydraulics, and automotive electronics is desirable
