Job Summary
Rental Equipment Field Service Technician performs diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing CAT heavy equipment at customer sites under supervision, adhering to MSHA and OSHA safety standards. Responsibilities include maintaining inspection logs, completing service reports, transmitting documentation, coordinating with Service/Product/Sales teams, mentoring other technicians, promoting Wagner Equipment to customers, and determining warranty repair guidelines. Requires strong technical knowledge of electrical and hydraulic schematics, ability to read SIMS codes, and travel to customer sites (75%-100%). Must maintain safe, functional service vehicle and possess relevant certifications (DOT Health Card, Class D license, MSHA). Travel and field duties are central to this role; the company emphasizes training, development, and customer-focused service in a loud indoor/outdoor work environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years’ experience servicing heavy equipment
- 1+ years administrative/clerical experience
- 3+ years customer service experience
- 3+ years sales experience
- DOT Health Card
- Class D Driver’s License
- MSHA License
