Job Summary
The Rental Diesel Technician role involves performing incidental repairs, removing/replacing repairable sub-assemblies, evaluating damage for rebuild reuse, troubleshooting equipment, and conducting high-level diagnostic assessments in a shop environment. Responsibilities include using the work order system, processing parts orders, identifying parts for return, collaborating with Shop Leads/Managers, following safety practices and quality standards, reading and applying manufacturers’ operation and maintenance manuals, inspecting equipment for safe operation and for customer-damage on returns, adhering to supervisor directions, performing basic troubleshooting with supervision, assisting in rebuilding/repairing/maintaining equipment, attending training, handling yard duties such as loading/unloading and cleaning equipment, and working overtime as needed. The role requires standing/walking, manual dexterity, safety and product knowledge, and familiarity with diagnostics, diesel systems, and relevant software/tools. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduation from a technical school with emphasis on diesel engine preferred
- Heavy equipment, engine, or mechanic repair experience
- 1+ years administrative/clerical experience
- 1+ years customer service experience
