Job Summary
Lead and build Anthropic’s Renewals function for consumption-based revenue, owning renewal strategy, bookings, gross/net retention, and forecast accuracy. You’ll hire/develop Renewals Managers, define coverage for the customer base, drive expansion at renewal, and partner with Sales, Deal Desk, Finance, and Customer Success to convert adoption into expanded commitments. The role emphasizes an AI-first mindset, data-driven decision making, and establishing scalable renewal playbooks and processes to manage usage-based contracts rather than fixed-cycle renewals. It involves leading executive-level renewal conversations for strategic accounts and shaping the renewal operating model to align with usage signals and customer health.
Required Qualifications
- 8–12+ years of experience in SaaS, PaaS, or consumption-led businesses with renewals/retention exposure
- 3–5+ years of people management experience leading renewals, retention, or commercial teams
- Proven track record of owning/exceeding renewal and retention targets in complex, enterprise deal cycles
- Excellent forecasting and pipeline management skills with evidence-based decision-making
- Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders (Sales, Finance, Deal Desk, Customer Success) at all levels
- Strong analytical mindset and comfort using data to drive decisions
- Experience with consumption-based or usage-based pricing models (preferred)
- Background in data, AI, cloud, or developer-platform businesses (preferred)
- Experience building renewals/retention function from ground up (playbooks, cadence, team structure) (preferred)
- Experience operating across multiple regions and markets (preferred)
