Job Summary
Renewables Energy Technician responsible for promoting safe, effective, and reliable operation and maintenance of the Renewable fleet; inspects, repairs and maintains plant electrical, electronic, instrumentation, controls, and electromechanical equipment including breakers, battery systems, communication, SCADA, and UPS; performs plant oversight, start-ups/shutdowns, responds to alarms, coordinates maintenance with contractors and other teams, maintains maintenance records in Maximo, and trains others in area of expertise. Requires strong safety practices (LOTO, JSA, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety, PPE), ability to perform high/low voltage switching and troubleshooting, and collaboration with Renewables Team, OEMs, EPCs, and vendors. Unionized position; compensation ranges from $39.46 to $51.74 per hour, with benefits and holidays; located in Karnak, IL.
Required Qualifications
- High School education or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years working as an Electrician or Technician in an Energy or OIL & Gas related industry
- Demonstrate effective oral and verbal communications skills
- Provide the technical expertise and skills to effectively work on and troubleshoot various electrical circuits (low voltage control and power circuits, up to high-voltage substation and switchyard equipment)
- Provide the technical expertise and skills to perform calibrations and maintenance of field instrumentation
- Proficient computer skills. Understands basic AC/DC Electrical Circuits, Digital/Analog I&C Controls, and Mechanics
