Renewables Electrical Senior Engineer

Job Summary
Acting as a project leader on battery energy storage systems and wind projects, the Renewables Electrical Senior Engineer collaborates with internal teams, external partners, and clients to ensure technical excellence and project success. Responsibilities include developing and reviewing electrical designs, performing electrical studies, preparing technical specifications, providing engineering support during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases, and conducting technical reviews to maintain design standards. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, a CFIA license, and extensive experience in electrical project design and renewable energy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering required.
- CFIA license is a must (or similar PE or P.Eng).
- 12 years in electrical project design.
- 15+ years of experience preferred in renewable energy, power systems, or a related industry.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Exceptional organizational and strategic prioritization skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with engineering software such as ETAP, Easypower, PSCAD, CYME, AutoCAD, or similar.
- Experience leading projects and teams.
- Strong knowledge of wind energy systems and battery energy storage systems, and technologies.
- Ability to perform AC & DC studies using electrical modelling software.
- Proficiency with electrical modeling software (e.g., ETAP, Easypower, CYME, CDEGS, or similar).
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), and industry standards.
