Job Summary
Rendering Operator with a mechanical background sought to support rendering department operations. Responsibilities include operating cookers, dryers, presses, mills, blowers, conveyors, and pumps; managing truck loading, tanker sanitation, and yard truck movement for trailer weighing/loading; monitoring systems via touchscreen controls; performing cleaning and sanitation including tank washing and chemical handling; executing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures during setup, teardown, and light maintenance; ensuring HACCP compliance using an iPad for product safety and quality tracking; working safely at heights up to ~60 ft to access silos and pipes; operating a forklift (PIT) and potentially low boys for material handling; handling pork by-products during raw material processing. Preferred experience in food production, sanitation, logistics, or mechanical roles with familiarity in LOTO, HACCP, and industrial cleaning procedures; PIT certification or forklift operation experience is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Comfortable working in hot and cold environments
- Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly
- Proficient in basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- Must speak, read, and understand English
- Willingness to work overtime and some Saturdays
- Not afraid of heights; must work on silo platforms (approx. 60 ft)
- Experience or willingness to learn chemical and high-pressure hose use
