Job Summary
Rendering Engineer at AGBO will architect and own the real-time rendering pipeline for interactive experiences tied to high-profile IP, delivering cinematic visuals across target platforms. Responsibilities include researching and implementing advanced rendering techniques (global illumination, ray tracing, physically-based shading, post-processing, VFX integration), collaborating with Art and Technical Art to define material/lighting workflows, profiling and optimizing GPU/CPU rendering performance to maintain high frame rates, and contributing to engine-level tooling and editor workflows. The role requires deep expertise in graphics APIs (Vulkan, DirectX 12, Metal, or OpenGL), strong C++ and shader language skills (HLSL/GLSL/WGSL), and experience with a major engine (e.g., Unreal Engine 5). The candidate will work with cross-functional teams, stay current on emerging APIs/hardware capabilities (e.g., DirectX 12 Ultimate, Vulkan, Metal), and translate complex technical concepts for non-engineering stakeholders in a fast-moving creative production environment.
Required Qualifications
- 5-8 years of professional experience in real-time rendering
- Strong portfolio of shipped titles or interactive experiences
- Proficiency in graphics APIs (Vulkan, DirectX 12, Metal, or OpenGL)
- Experience with Unreal Engine 5 or another major engine
- Proficiency in C++ and shader languages (HLSL, GLSL, or WGSL)
- Experience with physically-based rendering, deferred rendering, temporal anti-aliasing, screen-space effects, and/or ray tracing
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary team
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
