Job Summary
Set up, operate, monitor, test, dismantle, and clean dialysis equipment for patient treatments according to established procedures. Prepare for dialysis by gathering supplies, attaching tubing, calibrating alarms, and setting monitors. Transport patients as required and assist in preparing them for treatment while ensuring call bells are within reach. Perform minor maintenance, order and stock supplies, and maintain a safe, clean environment by cleaning equipment and attending to hazardous spills. Conduct dialysate water testing, replace pyrogen filters, and perform initial troubleshooting of equipment problems. Report concerns, alarms, and observations to nursing staff in a timely manner. Provide input into the development of orientation materials and operating procedures. Participate in Quality Assurance programs, attend in-service training, and perform general clerical duties such as answering the telephone and filing.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12
- two years recent related experience
- equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to organize work
- Ability to operate related equipment
- Testing
