Job Summary
As the Offshore Wind Technician, you will perform maintenance, repair or replacement of parts to correct malfunctions on wind turbine generators, troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on variable pitch and variable speed turbines, document all work in service reporting systems, and coordinate with GE’s remote operations center. The role requires collaboration with site leadership to meet customer requirements, willingness to operate in diverse environments, and the ability to work with minimal supervision while handling electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical diagnostics. Prior leadership of field teams is noted as a desirable characteristic; the position emphasizes hands-on diagnostics, repair, and operational support within GE Vernova's wind energy operations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Wind Technician
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, and using basic power hydraulic tools
- Passing a Technical Knowledge Assessment
- Valid driver's license
- Ability and willingness to climb towers up to 300 feet daily
- Understand electrical schematic drawings, technical manuals, procedures, and regulations
