Job Summary
Receive first calls from families and health care providers, then perform the removal of human remains from hospitals, private residences, and coroner's offices to transport them to the funeral home. Answer phones and doors with welcoming professionalism while ensuring all required information and releases are obtained prior to removal. Deliver and pick up Death Certificate orders from the local Health Department, maintain vehicle cleanliness and fueling, and assist with funeral services, flower hauling, and evening events. Work on-call part-time shifts varying by day, night, weekday, or weekend. Maintain strict confidentiality and exhibit exceptional customer service, empathy, and professionalism at all times.
Required Qualifications
- Valid California Driver's License
- Must be a Catholic in good standing
- Must be able to lift at least 100 lbs
- Practicing Catholic with knowledge and understanding of the Catholic Church
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
- Excellent interpersonal and phone skills
- Great organizational skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Professional temperament and appearance
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form using correct spelling, grammar and punctuation
- Ability to work and relate to a variety of personalities and cultures with diplomacy, friendliness and poise
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Handle multiple assignments consecutively and prioritize workload
- Must be able to lift 100 lbs
