Job Summary
Prepare and review Form 1041 fiduciary income tax returns, interpret trust documents, and approve complex individual income tax returns while ensuring accuracy and compliance. Serve as the primary liaison between the firm and external tax providers, overseeing outsourced preparation activities and coordinating tax services and planning projects. Partner with financial advisors to develop customized financial plans, analyze client data using planning tools, and create actionable recommendations based on client goals. Represent the tax department through client education events, seminars, and marketing initiatives while maintaining compliance with professional standards. This client-facing role combines technical tax expertise with strategic financial planning for high-net-worth individuals within a collaborative wealth management environment.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience in Trust & Estate taxation with strong technical expertise in fiduciary, estate, gift, and individual income taxation
- Approximately 5+ years of tax experience with significant exposure to Trust & Estate and High-Net-Worth individual taxation
- CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and tax-related technology platforms
- Experience working with CRM systems
- Excellent written, verbal, and client communication skills
- Comfortable participating in client presentations, educational events, and business development activities
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable
- Self-motivated with sound professional judgment and integrity
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
