Job Summary
OpenEd seeks a part-time Remote Texas Art Teacher to support K–12 students and families through personalized learning. Responsibilities include reviewing and grading student learning logs, providing timely feedback, conducting 1:1/small-group/large-group instruction, mentoring and tutoring students, creating engaging lessons, tailoring resources to individual needs, identifying at-risk students and coordinating interventions, communicating with parents, attending IEP meetings as needed, and collaborating with other teachers to support students program-wide. Core skills include strong verbal and written communication, ability to work independently, familiarity with Google Workspace, and a student-centered approach to flexible, non-traditional instruction. Additional duties may include tutoring or other assignments across the program as needed, with regular synchronous work and ongoing collaboration with the team. Hourly pay starts at $25/hour, and the role anticipates 25-27 hours per week with availability during core hours. The program emphasizes mentorship, flexibility, and personalized support in a remote teaching environment.
Required Qualifications
- Current Texas teaching certification with an endorsement in Art
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
- Experience with non-traditional educational programs (preferred)
- Access to smartphone, high-speed internet, computer, and webcam
- Familiarity with Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Schedule availability for 25-27 hours per week and core hours 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. MT (for synchronous responsibilities)
- Remote work allowed as part of this role
Desired Qualifications
