Job Summary
Review tax returns and supporting workpapers prepared by external providers to identify planning opportunities and technical issues. Coordinate with external tax preparation firms to facilitate timely and accurate completion of client tax returns. Participate in internal client strategy discussions and collaborate with advisory and planning teams to support tax planning objectives. Prepare tax projections, analyses, and tools used in comprehensive wealth planning engagements. Research federal and state tax matters and communicate findings to advisors, planners, and clients. Respond to IRS and state tax notices and assist with drafting correspondence as needed. Maintain current knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and planning strategies impacting clients. Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support client service, business development, and retention initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge of individual, trust, estate, partnership, and corporate taxation
- 3+ years of experience in public accounting, wealth management, family office, tax advisory services, or a related professional services environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and tax-related software applications
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience participating in client meetings, educational events, and prospective client discussions
- Strong attention to detail
