Job Summary
Remote Systems Engineer for a Southern California hospital client on a contract-to-hire basis. The role is 100% remote with occasional onsite travel to San Diego for company events; responsibilities include daily maintenance of server/storage/virtual application delivery infrastructure, implementing testing and deployment methodologies, designing and maintaining an available IT operations environment, monitoring, capacity planning, and collaborating with TOC. Requirements include 5+ years as a systems engineer in enterprise environments, strong experience with Windows/AD/DNS/DHCP, virtualization, storage, Linux, scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python), automation tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet), cloud services (Azure, OneDrive), and a BS degree or equivalent work experience. The posting notes U.S. citizenship or GC; C2C not supported; travel to San Diego a few times per year; candidate must live in Southern California.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a systems engineer in enterprise environments
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience
- Hands-on experience with Storage Solutions – Nutanix HCI, Compellent, NetApp, ECS; Storage Technologies – RAID, HBA, ZFS, DAS, NAS, SAN, MPIO; Virtualization – VMware vSphere, Acropolis Hyper Visor; Virtual Desktop Infrastructure – Citrix; Server OS – Windows 2012R2, 2016, 2019, 2022, Enterprise Linux, SUSE, Ubuntu 18+; Services – Active Directory, Azure cloud services; Cert Enrollment, Active Directory Federation Services; Scripting – PowerShell, Bash, Python; Automation – Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Azure Automation, Power Automate; Cloud solutions – OneDrive, Azure Files, Snowball, Serverless compute; DevSecOps/Automation
