Job Summary
Conduct daily meal assistance by selecting, preparing, and delivering food trays to patients while adhering to specific diet prescriptions. Communicate patient concerns such as education needs or inadequate consumption to the clinical dietitian. Calculate and assemble trays for various modified diets including renal, cardiac, and diabetic restrictions. Check cafeteria and nursing unit areas regularly to ensure stock levels and equipment functionality. Perform kitchen duties including sanitation, set-up, and completing temperature logs while utilizing an automated tablet to record meal selections. This rotational role involves a 3-week on/3-weeks off schedule with housing and meals provided at the Maniilaq Health Center in Kotzebue, AK.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Alaska Food Workers Card or ServSafe Certification contingent upon 90 days of hire
- Must pass a fingerprinting background investigation that complies with The Crime Control Act, Child Care Worker Act and the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act
- Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English

- At least one (1) year of directly related restaurant or healthcare food preparation experience
