Job Summary
The Remote Operations Center (ROC) Manager will lead a 24/7 ROC team overseeing wind, battery energy storage, and utility-scale solar assets across multiple ISO markets. Responsibilities include real-time SCADA monitoring, SOPs and escalation, incident and outage coordination, SAP PM Work Order administration, and production reporting. The role drives ROC stand-up for a new facility launching Jan 1, 2027, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and ensuring operational readiness through March 2027. Requires a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), 10+ years in ROC/utility operations, 5+ years in management within a 24/7 environment, SCADA experience in wind/PV/BESS, SAP PM familiarity, knowledge of CAISO/MISO/ERCOT/AESO/HQÉI markets, strong safety discipline (LOTO, switching, HV), and proven leadership and communication skills. Desired proficiency in multiple ISOs, EMS/SCADA historian platforms, NERC/WECC standards, and relevant professional certifications; bilingual abilities are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems, energy management, or a related technical field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in ROC renewable power plant operations, grid control room operations, or utility/ISO operations
- Minimum 5 years in a managerial role within a 24/7 operational environment
- Demonstrated experience with SCADA platforms in a wind, solar, or BESS operations environment
- Familiarity with SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) module for Work Order creation and management
- Understanding of wholesale electricity markets and interconnection requirements in at least one of: CAISO, MISO, ERCOT, AESO, or HQÉI
- Strong working knowledge of safety protocols including LOTO, switching procedures, and high-voltage safety practices
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team development skills
- Preferred: multi-ISO/market experience (CAISO, AESO/HQÉI), familiarity with wind PV BESS asset classes, knowledge of NERC/WECC, EMS/SCADA historian platforms, professional certifications (NERC SO, PE), bilingual abilities
