Job Summary
Underwrite a minimum of 2 loans daily, adhering to underwriting policy, investor guidelines, and APMC procedures. Review files for accuracy and completeness using the Underwriter Checklist and Quality Control tools. Respond to internal and external QC audit findings promptly while assisting underwriting staff with problem-solving. Communicate loan status and conditions with processors and loan officers. Requires 2-5 years of experience, with FHA or VA preferred, and authority to underwrite CONV, USDA, and Jumbo products. Salary ranges from $43 to $57 per hour ($115–$120K/year) with a performance bonus of $70–$150 per file. Sign-on bonus of $7,500–$15,000. Remote work available for US Citizens or Green Card holders.
Required Qualifications
- 2-5 years of underwriting experience
- Authority to underwrite CONV
- Commitment to company values, policies and procedures
- Ability to analyze an issue and determine best approach for a solution
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to work under pressure and time constraints
- Ability to manage time and priorities
- Strong coordination, organization, teaming and communication abilities

- Ability to quickly learn new or different techniques, products and computer programs
- Ability to provide and maintain effective and positive communication
- General experience and understanding of Encompass 360 – Banker's Edition
- General experience and understanding of Mortgage Builder
- General experience and understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel
- General experience and understanding of Outlook
- General experience and understanding of Internet navigation
Desired Qualifications
- FHA experience
- VA experience
- The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of underwriting experience with the above program designations
