Job Summary

Perform manual testing of an interactive, web-based weather visualization platform, verifying that features related to weather data such as radar, map layers, and storm patterns function as intended and display accurately. Take part in live testing events during tornado outbreaks, while identifying, documenting, and communicating bugs or anomalies clearly to the development team. Collaborate with developers to confirm bug fixes and suggest improvements based on your understanding of weather data and end-user behavior. This part-time role supports a dynamic weather visualization platform delivering real-time insights, offering flexible scheduling, hourly compensation, and opportunities for paid training.

Required Qualifications

  • A current student in meteorology, climatology, environmental sciences, or a weather-related field
  • OR a self-taught weather enthusiast with a deep understanding of radar maps, forecasting models, and storm tracking
  • User of different weather applications and weather data sources
  • Curious, observant, and detail-oriented, with a natural knack for spotting discrepancies
  • Strong communication skills and ability to document bugs clearly in English
  • Comfortable using web tools and navigating across browsers and devices

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with QA principles (e.g., exploratory testing, regression testing)
  • Experience using bug tracking or task management tools
  • Basic knowledge of how data feeds or weather APIs work
