Job Summary
Provide virtual, high-impact math tutoring to 6th-grade students at Whitcomb Middle School, supporting two students at a time with engaging lessons from the provided curriculum. Participate in asynchronous tutoring training led by Saga Education. Sessions occur Monday and Tuesday from 2:45 PM to 4:00 PM ET for approximately 2.5 hours per week, with on-camera presence required. This Federal Work-Study role includes a background check and fingerprinting process, with reimbursement for fingerprinting expenses. Selected candidates join a program focused on improving student mathematical understanding and confidence.
Required Qualifications
- Willingness to learn and apply high-impact tutoring techniques
- Willingness to learn how to use Saga Education's proprietary virtual platform
- Ability to engage and motivate middle school students
- Passion for education and making a positive impact
- CORI/SORI background check/fingerprinting
- On-camera presence is required during tutoring sessions and other activities necessary to fulfill the essential functions of this position
