Job Summary
Cashes customer and employee payments, brews specialty coffees and teas, and operates the cash register to record transactions and compile printed lists. Maintains cafeteria stock levels, cleans dining rooms and associated areas, and verifies food quality and quantity. Assists customers with inquiries and general information, places cash drawers from the safe into registers, and prepares special price lists. Head/Lead Cashiers supervise cashier transactions, direct personnel, monitor meal tickets and invoices, record cash received for bank deposits, and delegate cleaning projects. Periodically checks mail and suggestion boxes, assists with special projects, and ensures all front-end activities align with business practices. This role supports the Maniilaq Health Center in Kotzebue, AK, featuring a 3-weeks-on/3-weeks-off rotation with meals and housing provided.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- At least three (3) months of experience with cash handling procedures, cleaning processes, and cleaning procedures
- Alaska Food Workers Card or ServSafe Certification contingent upon 90 days of hire
- Must pass a fingerprinting background investigation that complies with The Crime Control Act, Child Care Worker Act and the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act
- Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English
