Job Summary
Diagnose and assess mental/behavioral health disorders for pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, and conduct disorders. Formulate differential diagnoses, conduct patient history and initial evaluations, and order/interpret diagnostic tests as appropriate. Prescribe medications and provide counseling while educating patients and parents on side effects, risks, benefits, and medication expectations. Establish and modify treatment plans based on clinical assessments and screening tools, documenting all visits in the electronic medical record. Collaborate with therapist teams, medical leadership, and primary care physicians to discuss treatment plans and provide supervision to psychiatric nurse practitioners. Update clinical knowledge through literature review and maintain appropriate referrals.
Required Qualifications
- MD/DO with appropriate licensing in states prescribing
- Active NY DEA License
- Valid Medical License in states prescribing
- Valid DEA License in states prescribing
- Valid Medicaid number in NY
- Experience with prior psychopharmacology management
- Ability to screen for danger to self or others
- Demonstrated adherence to acceptable ethical and behavioral standards of conduct
- Ability to collaborate with strong skills working with a team
- Experience working specifically with children and adolescents

- NY Medicaid Number
- Strong organizational and time management skills
