Remelt / Fork Lift Operator 3rd Shift

Job Summary
Maintain metal temperatures in remelt and holding furnaces while skimming slag and sprinkling fluxing compound on molten aluminum. Convey molten aluminum to casting presses and scrap metal from trim presses to remelt furnaces, ensuring adequate supply for operations. Add specified proportions of scrap metal and ingots, perform de-gassing procedures, and order raw materials using the FIFO system. Possess or obtain a Gibbs powered industrial equipment license with six months of manufacturing experience. Work in a hot environment close to furnaces, adhering to all safety policies and FIFO requirements. Regular attendance and overtime as assigned are required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must possess a Gibbs issued powered industrial equipment license or be willing to obtain a Gibbs issued powered industrial equipment license
- 6 months in a manufacturing environment using powered industrial equipment (fork truck)
- Applicants must be authorized to work for an employer in the U.S.
- Must be able to work in a hot environment and close proximity to hot furnaces and equipment
- Must be able to maintain regular and punctual attendance in accordance with scheduled work hours and overtime (OT) as assigned
- Must be able to meet all physical and environmental requirements
- Must be able to follow all Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Policy regulations including the proper use of all required personal protective equipment
