Relocation Project Manager

Job Summary

Plan and execute workplace relocation projects and furniture reconfigurations for groups up to 1,000 people, managing moves, office conversions, and space modifications while supervising additional staff. Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with facility and construction managers, overseeing vendor procurement and contractor performance for move labor and furniture installation. Provide on-site presence during relocations to resolve issues in real time, conduct pre- and post-move inspections, and manage punch list items through completion. Coordinate with design teams to translate furniture requirements into actionable plans, track inventory, and maintain accurate records in CAFM systems. Serve as the primary point of contact for all move management activities, ensuring seamless transitions that meet client expectations, budget, and timeline standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Three to four years of facility, project, or construction-related experience in a Corporate Real Estate environment
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the complete Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with CAD/CAFM technology featuring move management modules and client facilities management systems
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, furniture plans, and specifications, and apply furniture and space planning concepts
  • Knowledge of construction or commercial real estate industry practices
  • Familiarity with furniture systems, manufacturers, and installation processes
  • Understanding of ergonomic standards and workplace design principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels, including executive stakeholders
  • Exceptional organizational abilities with strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
  • Demonstrated capacity to identify and manage competing priorities while multitasking effectively across multiple furniture projects and relocations
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing both independently and as part of collaborative teams
  • Strong project management capabilities with experience coordinating multiple vendors, timelines, and budgets simultaneously
  • Detail-oriented approach with commitment to accuracy and quality in both relocation and furniture project execution
  • Self-motivated with the ability to identify skill development opportunities and proactively seek training
  • Professional networking capabilities and willingness to build personal and firm reputation through industry participation
  • Strong interpersonal skills that build trust and reduce client stress during periods of change
  • Problem-solving mindset with ability to develop creative solutions for furniture and space challenges

Desired Qualifications

  • Background in project management, construction management, architecture, furniture project management, or project strategy planning is highly desirable
  • Experience managing furniture reconfigurations, installations, and office conversions is preferred
