Job Summary
The Relief Veterinarian provides exceptional diagnostic, treatment and surgical services to animals, focusing on both outpatient and inpatient cases, primarily canine and feline, with occasional exotics. Responsibilities include performing high-quality spay/neuter surgeries, maintaining medical records, and engaging in clinical instruction and mentorship of veterinary students. The role requires a DVM license in Oregon, strong medical and surgical skills, and the ability to maintain high standards of patient care and communication with stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- DVM from an accredited academic institution.
- Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Oregon or able to acquire within six months of hire.
- Able to provide high quality patient care to a wide variety of animal species and breeds.
- Able to demonstrate excellent surgery and medical diagnostic abilities in a high volume veterinary medicine facility.
- Able to perform in distracting conditions without loss of accuracy or appearance of frustration.
- Able to demonstrate exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills during interpersonal and technical job specific interactions.
- Exhibit honesty, discretion, and sound judgment.
- Possess strong mathematical skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute rates and ratios, and convert units of measurement.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills - able to communicate with a diverse population in a consistently informative, respectful and professional manner.
