Job Summary
Oversee store operations during shifts to maximize sales performance. Ensure adequate staffing, train new employees, and maintain proper merchandising and store cleanliness. Manage cash handling and change reserves, assist cashiers, implement customer service programs, and provide guidance and feedback to employees. Train staff, promote safety by coaching on safety issues, identify safety concerns, and report them. Prepare daily performance reports for the assigned crew and furniture department, and suggest disciplinary actions to the store manager. Maintain attendance records and enforce Operations Manual guidelines for banking/cash handling. Ensure carts are in-store at closing and follow closing procedures. Prepare the production area for the next shift by securing donated items. Direct store employees during assigned shifts and report to the store manager or supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with a diverse workforce
- Ability to work with individuals possessing developmental disabilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good listener
- Energy to take on fast-paced work
- Ability to delegate and follow up to achieve results
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- Ability to write employee warnings, which provide clear feedback to employees
- Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers and employees
- Eligibility to work in the United States (implicit in US location)
