Job Summary
Provide crisis intervention and support to women and dependents living in a residential setting within the organization’s Anishinabe Health and Wellness Framework. Utilize the teachings of the medicine wheel and Seven Grandfather Teachings, engage Elders for guidance, and implement Beendigen’s cultural practices in professional conduct. Offer a safe, nonjudgmental environment for victims of violence, manage admissions and program documentation, maintain resident databases and case plans, facilitate resident programming, assist with meals and childcare as needed, and collaborate with the Crisis Home team to ensure health, safety, and confidentiality. Ability to work in a cross-trained role for the Relief Help Line and participate in team trainings and meetings. Must adhere to confidentiality and privacy legislation, and perform duties in alignment with organizational policies and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Social Service Worker Diploma or comparable diploma and/or training.
- Demonstrated experience providing services to Anishinabe women and children.
- Knowledge of Anishinabe culture, tradition, language and Anishinabe community.
- Demonstrated commitment to the Violence Against Women sector.
