Job Summary
Conduct overnight supervision of children in a residential program from 10pm to 9am, maintaining vigilant oversight and facilitating structured activities. Respond to emotional dysregulation using trauma-informed strategies while assisting with hygiene, diet, and school readiness. Document required hand-off communications, complete daily logs, and file behavioral or incident reports before shift end. Ensure safety standards are followed and monitor phone calls and visits per therapist protocols. Participate in weekly staff meetings and work toward quality improvement goals. This role supports the Children's Home Society of South Dakota's mission to foster equity and inclusion through compassionate, trauma-informed care for individuals, families, and communities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years of experience working with children, especially those with behavioral issues
