Job Summary
Assess, develop, and apply age-appropriate self-care, fine motor, adaptive behavior, and sensory processing skills for patients from infancy to adulthood. Administer standardized assessment tools, evaluate functional mobility, and design clinically appropriate occupational therapy plans of care focusing on therapeutic and family-centered goals. Provide direct patient care including feeding/swallowing evaluation, splinting, and durable medical equipment recommendations, while overseeing interns and rehabilitation aides. Manage interdisciplinary care planning, rounds, and community agency continuity, ensuring timely and accurate documentation and billing for evaluation, treatment precautions, and discharge summaries.
Required Qualifications
- Occupational Therapist by California Board of Occupational Therapy
- RQI Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support
- Basic Life Support by American Heart Association (AHA)
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Sound clinical reasoning skills consistent with standards of care and professional practice standards
- Knowledge of legal issues affecting the clinical practice
- Knowledge of regulatory practice requirements
- Knowledge of available equipment and vendors used in assigned area
- Knowledge of evaluation and treatment methodologies as applied to routine patient care
- Ability to manage clinical caseload
- Knowledge and adherence to Code of Ethics and performance standards specific to the clinician's professional organization
- Knowledge of business aspects of position, such as utilization management, charging practices and regulatory compliance
