Job Summary
Relief Marine Operative to join our team in Hull. You will monitor and coordinate vessel movements through the port’s lock systems, operate lock gate machinery at various docks, and act as Berthing Master to assist with safe mooring and unmooring of vessels. The role supports marine operations by ensuring procedures meet safety and operational standards, and involves working as part of a relief team across the port, including night shifts, weekends and rotating schedules. Desirable experience includes sea-going or marine-related background; full training provided for port operations. The position is based on a 40-hour week with variable shifts, and offers a comprehensive benefits package including pension, private healthcare, and an in-house training academy.
Required Qualifications
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Willingness and ability to work night shifts, weekends, and rotating shift patterns
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks
- Flexible and reliable team player with a proactive attitude
