Job Summary
Relief Driver, “G” Class responsible for the safe transportation of Agency clients and volunteers in Toronto, including loading/unloading meals on wheels bags, delivering multiple meals on wheels routes, assisting clients in and out of vehicles, and ensuring safety and vehicle checks. Duties include picking up meals from hospital/loading docks, driving clients between homes and drop-off points, reporting concerns, and collaborating with staff and volunteers. Requires valid Class G license, clean driving record, Vulnerable Sector Check, ability to work evenings/weekends, and knowledge of downtown streets. Required Qualifications
- Valid Class G driver’s license
- Personal Driver’s Insurance
- Must be 25 years of age or older
- Clean and recent driver’s abstract
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and part of team
- Knowledge of downtown city streets
- Sensitive to the needs of seniors and individuals with disabilities
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records check is required
- Must be qualified to work in Canada legally for the employer
- Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening check with a ‘Clear’ or satisfactory result that meets the operational requirements of the Agency
