Job Summary
Relief Cook needed to cover weekend shifts (Saturdays and Sundays) in a scratch-based kitchen serving residents of a senior-living community. Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner, cook using broiling/grilling/frying/ sautéing methods, and present dishes appealingly while adhering to safety and quality standards. Build positive relationships with residents, guests, and teammates to maintain a warm, welcoming atmosphere during weekend service. Responsibilities include opening/closing tasks, staying stocked and organized, maintaining sanitary conditions, and monitoring temperatures for safety. Requires willingness to work weekends, relevant kitchen experience is preferred, and ability to obtain required food handler permits within two weeks of start. Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to work every Saturday and Sunday, at least 8 hours per day
- Ability to read, speak and understand basic English
- Experience in kitchen preparation and cooking, preferred
- Ability to secure appropriate food handler permits as required by local ordinances within two weeks of first day of employment
