Job Summary
Reliability Specialist Technician responsible for NDT, machine health monitoring, and continuous improvement within our Surface Maintenance Department for open-pit mining equipment. Core duties include performing Ultrasonic Testing, Magnetic Particle, Dye Penetrant, and Thermography; registering oil samples, interpreting analyses, and generating CMMS work orders; coaching others in diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems; participating in Root Cause Failure Analyses and component teardowns; leading oil-change interval studies and contamination-control projects; analyzing machine health trends and communicating findings to the maintenance team; and upholding Safety Leader expectations. Requires certification in NDT techniques, post-secondary engineering qualification or equivalent experience, and advanced CMMS/Excel data-analysis skills; a CLS or ML/MLT/MLE-related lubrication specialty is a plus. Required Qualifications
- Certification of expertise on NDT techniques (Visual Inspection, Magnetic Particle, Dye Penetrant, Thermography, Ultrasonic)
- Engineering qualification or equivalent three years industry experience in reliability/mobile equipment
- Licenses (Machine Lubricant technician/Analyst/Engineer; Certified Lubrication Specialist (CLS) as a plus)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analysis (Power BI, Tableau)
- Advanced CMMS user
- Root Cause Analysis Facilitator
- Safety leadership and hazard identification minimums
- Ability to self-manage multiple deliverables and prioritize tasks
- Experience with oil analysis and RCFA
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
