Job Summary
Reliability Engineer responsible for analyzing maintenance demands and improvements of site manufacturing equipment, identifying solutions to recurring problems to reduce downtime, developing strategies for equipment and data collection, supervising contractors per EHS regs, evaluating design feasibility for new or modified plant equipment, utilizing CAD/CAM/CAE tools to design equipment and production methods, and managing expense and capital projects from scope through closeout. The role requires strong electrical and mechanical background, experience with CMMS, ability to sponsor relocation (TN1) from Canada, and willingness to work on multiple shifts; the position is based in Detroit, MI, with a salary range of $150k-$170k plus bonus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, industrial or electrical)
- Electrical experience is REQUIRED
- Controls experience is REQUIRED
- 8-10 years of engineering experience with strong electrical and mechanical background
- Willing to sponsor and relocate engineers from Canada under TN1 program
- Reliability Certification Preferred
- Manufacturing experience Preferred
- CMMS Experience Preferred
- Ability to work both first and third shift
- Knowledge of federal mining laws (MSHA)
- Knowledge of mining methods and in use and operation of related equipment
- Knowledge in the installation, basic maintenance, or operation of mine ventilation and materials processing/handling systems and/or mine shaft maintenance
