Job Summary

Lead Reliability Engineer supporting spacecraft development during formulation for Blue Origin's In-Space Systems. Establish reliability frameworks, influence design decisions, and ensure mission success from concept through preliminary design. Perform reliability predictions and analyses (FMEA/FMECA, FTA, RBD, PHA), define reliability requirements and budgets across subsystems, and maintain the Reliability Program Plan aligned with program milestones. Collaborate cross-functionally with systems engineers, mission designers, and suppliers to embed reliability best practices, develop test strategies, and drive mitigation of single-point failures while supporting risk management activities. Requires strong technical leadership, problem-solving, and the ability to communicate complex findings to varied audiences. Relocation is provided and travel up to 20% is expected.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering or other technical discipline
  • 5+ years in a reliability role in design/integration/operations
  • Experience with FMEA/FMECA, FTA, reliability modeling tools
  • Familiarity with spacecraft development lifecycle and MIL-HDBK-217/217Plus or equivalent
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • U.S. citizen or eligible for U.S. work authorization
