Reliability Engineer Co-Op/Intern - Winter 2027

Job Summary
Investigate equipment failures to determine root causes and develop corrective actions using RCA, 5 Why, or design assessment modeling. Troubleshoot equipment performance, validate new or modified designs, and implement preventative maintenance job plan improvements. Mine data to identify reliability opportunities for OEE improvements and cost reduction, while reviewing historic drawings to support asset integrity decisions. Communicate with management, operators, engineers, and contractors during department and project meetings. Participate in special projects focused on improving plant availability and stationary assets at the K2 site.
Required Qualifications
- Third year or above by January 2027 pursuing a bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Systems
- 72% or higher
- Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Ability to work full time and be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship
- Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required
- Must be authorized to work in the Canada
- Able to lift approximately 0-25 lbs. occasionally
- Able to climb stairs and work at various heights
- Able to distinguish varying or specific colors, patterns or materials
- Able to hear, with or without correction
- Able to read, write and understand basic English
- Able to see, with or without correction
- Able to use fine hand motor skills
- Able to wear a respirator
- Able to safely perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat to the safety of his or her own self, or the safety of others
Desired Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work
- Previous internship or co-op experience
- Familiarity with an industrial environment
- Effective verbal communication skills
