Reliability Electrical Engineer

Job Summary
Manage asset quality and minimize process downtime by leading root cause failure analysis, establishing preventive maintenance programs, and executing corrective actions for electrical distribution, high- and medium-voltage breakers, motors, and PLC/DCS systems. Collaborate with area production managers to align maintenance objectives with division strategy while optimizing manufacturing reliability and reducing facility substandards. Perform diagnostic inspections, repair, and rebuild major equipment components, utilizing technical skills to read plans and direct fabrication or repair activities. Maintain a steadfast commitment to safety and environmental stewardship while supporting department quality and productivity levels through effective communication and problem-solving.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
- Experience in lieu of a degree may be considered
- Current repair and maintenance of industrial electrical and instrumentation equipment skills
- At least 5 years' experience
- Thorough knowledge of power distribution and high- and medium-voltage motor control systems
- Ability to read plans, prints, sketches and use those to direct fabrication or repair
- Ability to lead other by communicating effectively with team members
- Bilingual
- Strong analytical and technical skills
- Teamwork and problem-solving skills
- Proven record of being able to solve problems and implement corrective actions in areas that he/she has no previous experience
- May requires a flexible schedule
- Candidate should be able to work overtime, odd and unscheduled hours as required and share on-call duties
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs
- Ability to stand, bend or kneel for long and short periods of time
Desired Qualifications
- A PE license and/or CMRP designation
- Similar experience in a highly automated process manufacturing environment
- Accustomed to large-scale production in a commodity driven low-cost business
- While qualified candidates may come from outside the paper industry
