Job Summary
Process, rate, and release all client shipments in accordance with Livingston's operating procedures to ensure commitment times are met. Create customs entries by reviewing documentation, selecting proper keywords and HS codes, and entering accurate shipment data for billing. Verify release conditions, compliance, and rating requirements while contacting clients or analysts for missing information. Prioritize work based on client and customs requirements, escalate two-step release issues, and utilize system automation tools to support daily operations. Adhere to established policies, SOPs, and ESPs while identifying outdated procedures to improve team efficiencies.
Required Qualifications
- High School/GED or equivalent
- Associates Degree or post-secondary education
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation with the Canadian Society of Customs Brokers (CSCB) or the National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America (NCBFAA)
- Successful completion of the CCS examination
- Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills
- Client Service oriented -- interpersonal skills with internal/external clients and coworkers
- Ability to handle large volumes and meet tight deadlines
- Attention to detail; organization, completeness and accuracy
- Good analytical skills with problem-solving ability
- Ability to make decisions and recommendations within authorized limitations
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to present a professional image
- Knowledge of Word and Excel software
- Personal computer and common business machines/software
Desired Qualifications
- Working towards/or successful completion of the Certified Customs Specialists (CCS) designation with the Canadian Society of Customs Brokers (CSCB) or the National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America (NCBFAA) is a requirement, if not already obtained
- Successful completion of the CCS examination is a mandatory requirement for further advancement
