Job Summary
Red-line design documents across Single Line, AC/DC Elementary, Wiring, Panel Arrangement, and Bill of Material sets. Perform end-to-end testing of protection and control schemes, including manual and automated IED testing using devices like Doble 6150 and Omicron. Develop test plans, risk assessments, and functional guidelines by analyzing scope and drawing interpretations. Lead people and tasks on projects, conduct weekly site safety inspections, and apply HP with Project Lead approval. Work up to 50+ hours per week with a schedule involving three weeks of travel to client sites with paid housing and long weekends home. Sign-on and referral bonuses up to $10k each, plus per diem up to $225 depending on the client.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET university or Associates/ AET degree, degree with an emphasis on power systems preferred
- Minimum three (3) years' experience in relay testing and commissioning in substations
- Experience in handling simple volt-ohm-meter and working with hand tools
- Experience in reading and interpreting One Line, AC & DC Elementary and Wiring diagrams
- Proficient computer, computer network, and Android/iPhone app skills: Microsoft Office suite of software, mapping drive letters for server connections, obtaining, installing, and connecting handheld device apps to 'The Cloud' or other locations as required
- Ability to perform regular field work in various work environments, conditions and weather
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (inclusive of reading and writing) due to the nature of safety-related materials, documentation, and interactions with clients
