Job Summary
Execute commissioning and testing of protection and control schemes for utility substations, including Intelligent Electronic Devices and SCADA systems. Red-line design documents across single line, wiring, and material lists while performing end-to-end and IED testing using automated sets like the Doble 6150. Develop comprehensive test plans, risk assessments, and functional guidelines by analyzing scope and drawing interpretations. Lead people and tasks on projects, conduct weekly site safety inspections, and apply HP with Project Lead approval. Work up to 50+ hours weekly with a 3-week travel schedule to client sites, supported by a company truck and relocation bonuses.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET university or Associates/ AET degree
- degree with an emphasis on power systems
- Minimum three (3) years' experience in relay testing and commissioning in substations
- Experience in handling simple volt-ohm-meter and working with hand tools
- Experience in reading and interpreting One Line, AC & DC Elementary and Wiring diagrams
- Proficient computer, computer network, and Android/iPhone app skills
- Microsoft Office suite of software
- mapping drive letters for server connections
- obtaining, installing, and connecting handheld device apps to 'The Cloud' or other locations as required
- Ability to perform regular field work in various work environments, conditions and weather
- Ability to read company manuals and reports, workplace rules and procedures
- speak with poise and confidence, using correct English
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (inclusive of reading and writing)
