Job Summary
The Relative Support Case Manager provides kinship placement and support services to improve and sustain youth placement, decrease kinship disruptions, educate kinships on policies and procedures, and connect families to resources. Responsibilities include investigating incidents of child abuse/neglect, assessing risk to children, performing needs assessments, preparing reports for Juvenile Court or County Director, developing informal adjustment plans, creating discharge/transition programming, monitoring program effectiveness, accepting on-call duties, conducting home studies, and facilitating kinship engagement and resource access. The role requires strong knowledge of social work principles, state/federal laws affecting child protection, ability to work with diverse families, crisis management, and a valid driver’s license. Residency in the service area preferred, and work primarily from Terre Haute, IN with service to multiple counties in Indiana; mileage reimbursement is provided. A degree is not strictly required if the candidate has substantial human services experience; supervisory responsibilities may be assigned depending on agency needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, or Associate degree with a minimum of two (2) years of human services job experience, or Completion of thirty (30) college credit hours from an accredited institution with a minimum of four (4) years of human services job experience, or A minimum of at least five (5) years of human services job experience.
