Relationship Manager III ERISA, Retirement

Job Summary

Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships by providing support to a group of retirement plans through knowledge, expertise, and customer care. Oversee compliance tasks relating to ERISA retirement plans, ensuring documents adhere to IRS and DOL regulations while coordinating needs with investment providers, plan sponsors, participants, and advisors. Manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines simultaneously, consulting on regulatory, operational, and service aspects of retirement plans. Coordinate support for plan sponsors during IRS audits or DOL investigations and provide expertise as a subject matter owner of procedures and checklists. This full-time, salaried, exempt role requires 8 AM to 5 PM hours, Monday through Friday, with 40+ hour work weeks and occasional travel for on-site client visits. You must gain extensive knowledge of retirement plans through certification within one year and maintain a QKA designation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or work equivalent
  • 1 year retirement plan administration experience
  • Must gain extensive knowledge of retirement plans through certification within 1 year of accepting this position
  • maintain QKA designation once obtained
  • Must meet or exceed required level of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in all measured areas
  • Have excellent customer relation skills including the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships
  • Be highly attentive to detail and accuracy of work and maintain an organized approach to duties and responsibilities
  • Able to learn quickly and have the ability to research complex problems independently
  • Personable, highly motivated, hardworking and positive attitude
  • Be well-organized and self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Be professional and articulate in both verbal and written communication
  • Have strong computer skills including typing, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Be able to comprehend and interpret IRS and DOL regulations

Desired Qualifications

  • Some travel may be required to make on-site client visits (some visits may require overnight stays)
  • Provide expertise as a subject matter expert in one or more duties related to Relationship Management, including owning procedures and checklists pertaining to subject
  • Provide expertise by way of a professional blogpost that can be published on the NBS online knowledge base
  • Actively contribute to a positive team environment
