Relationship Manager: Chinese Desk

Job Summary
Develop and maintain relationships with Chinese corporates, investors, and entrepreneurs to grow the Bank's client portfolio. Identify new business opportunities, deepen existing accounts, and deliver tailored banking solutions across deposits, lending, trade finance, and payments. Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, conducting regular visits and business reviews to drive asset growth while ensuring compliance with KYC, AML, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with internal teams including Credit, Risk, and Operations to execute client acquisition plans and support seamless onboarding. Maintain accurate client records and monitor portfolio performance to address emerging risks. Represent the Bank at business forums and build a strong network within the Chinese business community in Tanzania.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Marketing, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in corporate banking, commercial banking, relationship management, business banking, or a related banking environment
- Strong understanding of the Tanzanian business and banking environment
Desired Qualifications
- Professional banking or finance certification
- Experience managing Chinese corporate clients or working with Chinese businesses/investors
- Mandarin/Chinese language proficiency
