Job Summary
Conduct consultative interviews to identify member needs and deliver creative financial solutions, including facilitating mortgage lending, opening consumer accounts, and processing loan applications. Educate members on product benefits while calculating loan terms, rates, and payment amounts. Process financial transactions, update account information, and document member interactions in the core system with close attention to detail. Resolve member concerns by collaborating with internal departments and follow through the loan closing process. Perform support duties such as scanning, faxes, and daily reports while complying with all regulatory policies. Float between Michigan branches as needed, transitioning to a permanent placement upon successful onboarding.
Required Qualifications
- Six months to two years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a proactive sales position
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a banking/credit union environment opening accounts and taking loan applications
- A high school degree or GED
- Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of products including Word and Outlook
- Ability to be bonded
- Ability to obtain and maintain notary designation
- Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control
- Must be available for weekend shifts (Saturday: 8:45AM - 1:15PM)
- Must be available for travel to Michigan branches for coverage/support as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with financial products
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, rates, and percentages
- Strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated strong customer service skills that include proven ability to handle difficult member interactions
- Strong communication skills
