Job Summary
Serve as the single point of contact for customers by greeting visitors, building rapport, and matching financial needs with bank products. Process transactions including check deposits, cash handling, and account openings while maintaining drawer limits and performing vault duties. Identify customer requirements through interviews to make referrals, resolve complaints, and manage exception reports. Retain existing clients and develop new relationships by promoting sales campaigns and exceeding performance goals. Participate in bank functions and community events as assigned. Maintain knowledge of regulatory issues including the Bank Secrecy Act and Fair Lending.

- Ability to answer customer questions, provide account opening information, and ensure that proper paperwork is completed and entered on the computer system
- Ability to assist customers with routine questions and requests: balance inquiries, temporary statements, check copies, stop payments, holds, online banking, ACH, automatic funds transfer, direct deposit, wire processing, coin processing, notary services, and privacy
- Ability to serve customers by processing a variety of transactions quickly with minimal or no errors according to established First United Bank policies and procedures
- Ability to accept checks for cash and deposit
- Ability to process money orders, savings bonds, traveler's checks, cashier's checks, accepting and processing payments for loans and other services
- Ability to maintain appropriate drawer limits, perform cash versifications and vault duties
- Ability to verify all transactions, place holds as appropriate and prove cash drawer upon completion of assigned shift to ensure compliance with First United Bank standards policies
- Ability to seek assistance as needed to resolve proof discrepancies
- Ability to proactively resolve customer complaints, problems, or other issues
- Ability to review and resolve account issues listed in insufficient and exception reports on daily basis
- Ability to assist customers with account charge-off repayment plans
- Ability to perform security functions by opening and closing bank and vault, and ensuring overall safety and security of bank grounds
- Ability to master the Primary Purpose and Essential duties of the Relationship Banker I position
- Ability to perform other job-related duties as assigned, including work in other areas to cover absences or otherwise balance the workload
- Ability to maintain a basic knowledge of all First United Bank products, services, procedures, policies and appropriate regulatory issues relating to daily job functions including but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act; Privacy; Fair Lending; Regulation E; deposit, transaction and loan accounts
- Ability to follow proper procedures accurately and efficiently for all customer-servicing activities performed
