Relational Security Officer

Job Summary
Maintain and enforce security of persons and property in accordance with established policies and procedures. Patrol buildings and grounds, utilizing computerized surveillance equipment and video monitoring systems. Check doors, windows, and entrances to prevent unauthorized entry. Respond to emergencies such as the Disaster Plan, fires, and physically aggressive patients by assessing situations and consulting medical staff. Investigate and resolve disturbances using non-violent interventions, while documenting incidents and preparing detailed reports. Provide security escorts for staff and patients as requested, and conduct pre/post flight safety inspections of heliports. Liaise with fire, police, and community officials regarding protocols and investigations. Perform First Aid services, maintain supplies, and complete required documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Current BC Security Guard License
- OFA Level I Certification
- Certification of Training Completion in Advanced Security Training
- One year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to organize work
- Ability to operate related equipment
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Strong attention to detail
