Job Summary
Analyze claim data to determine reinsurance applicability and ensure timely notice to reinsurers. Act as the claim expert on underlying claims, interpreting reinsurance contracts to support accurate cessions and billing. Provide specialist advice on technical queries, manage complex coverage issues, and respond to internal stakeholder needs regarding treaty renewals and contract drafting. Serve as a key point of contact for brokers and reinsurers while providing audit support and maintaining open communication channels for claim insights. Work across the organization to ensure accurate reporting and handle sensitive underwriting information. Based in Schaumburg, IL with a hybrid schedule, this role supports the Reinsurance Finance & Recoveries Team within Zurich North America's risk management leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 6 or more years of experience in the insurance claims area with exposure to the reinsurance business
- High School Diploma
- 8 or more years of experience in the insurance claims area with exposure to the reinsurance business
- Zurich Certified Apprentice
- Associate Degree
- Advanced knowledge of claims, reinsurance, and legal/coverage issues on direct and reinsurance claims for multiple lines of business
- Experience with Microsoft Office product
