Job Summary

Assist therapy staff with treatment preparation, equipment maintenance, and resident transportation to and from sessions. Set up therapy spaces, monitor cleanliness and safety of rehabilitation areas, and clean, disinfect, and inspect equipment per infection control policies. Support residents with non-clinical activities, positioning, transfers, and mobility under licensed therapy personnel direction. Maintain therapy supply inventory, handle administrative tasks like scheduling and data entry, and communicate resident concerns to appropriate staff. Participate in facility meetings and training programs while complying with all federal, state, and facility policies regarding resident care and safety.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds independently
  • Ability to assist with resident transfers and mobility activities
  • Ability to work in a healthcare environment with exposure to communicable diseases and cleaning agents
  • May require occasional weekend and holiday coverage

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a healthcare-related field
  • Previous experience in rehabilitation, healthcare, long-term care, or skilled nursing
  • Experience working with geriatric populations
  • CPR certification
  • Understanding of basic rehabilitation principles and patient care techniques
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to follow directions and work under supervision
  • Knowledge of safe patient handling and transfer techniques
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
