Job Summary
Prepare treatment areas, equipment, and supplies prior to patient sessions. Assist therapists and therapy assistants with patient positioning, transfers, mobility activities, and treatment setup. Escort or transport patients to and from treatment areas as requested. Clean and disinfect therapy equipment, treatment tables, mats, and high-touch surfaces in accordance with infection prevention standards. Assist with equipment inspections, maintenance checks, and documentation of logs. Obtain, organize, and restock supplies necessary for patient care. Assist with clerical duties including filing, copying, scanning, faxing, data entry, scheduling support, and report preparation. Utilize electronic medical record systems in accordance with organizational policies. Adhere to all hospital policies, HIPAA requirements, and participate in mandatory education and competency assessments. Work frequently on feet, lifting and transferring up to 50 pounds, and perform other duties as assigned in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Required Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and coworkers
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office applications and electronic documentation systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Frequently must be able to be on their feet walking, standing, transporting and/or positioning patients
- Frequently lift and transfer a minimum of 50 pounds and apply a minimum of 50 pounds of push/pull force while using good body mechanics
- Frequently use hands to finger, handle or feel
- Frequently reach with hands and arms
- Frequently requires bending and stretching while using good body mechanics
Desired Qualifications
- Basic understanding of medical terminology preferred
